About Us

Who We Are

York Christian Youth Holidays (YCYH) is a charitable voluntary organisation with many years of experience running such holidays, programmes, and events. The organisation is non-denominational and financially self-supporting. We are organisational members of Christian Camping International (CCI), which is an association for Christian organisations involved in camps, holidays, conferences, and outdoor centre ministries.

We aim to run quality, affordable, and safe holidays and events for children and young people aged 8-18. This includes holidays at the Rock UK centre Whithaugh Park, RUup4it events, Taskforce training and mentoring programme, and 1-2-1 mentoring. All specialist activities only take place under the supervision of fully qualified instructors from activity centres, licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA).

YCYH recognizes the importance of its work with children and young people, and its responsibility to protect everyone entrusted to our care. We therefore have developed and operate a Safeguarding Policy, which is registered with the Churches Child Protection Advisory Service (CCPAS). We are committed to ensuring that all leaders who work with children and young people for YCYH have undergone a Disclosure & Barring Service check at enhanced level, are adequately trained and supervised, understand our Safeguarding Policy and will follow the Standards of Working Practice. A behaviour policy and agreement, that all children and young people must sign and adhere to, is included as part of our safeguarding. A copy of the full policy including Standards of Working Practice is available from the YCYH Office.

Our vision is to encourage children and young people to know our Lord Jesus Christ, and to equip and empower them to live out their Christian faith. YCYH purposely keeps its costs to minimum, and we rely on gifts and donations from churches, organisations and individuals to support our all year round ministry, enabling more children and young people to attend who would otherwise be unable to because of financial pressures. Opportunities to support us are available though our gift aid declaration form and bankers order form.
